Warmahordes Combos!

Something I've noticed about Warmachine and Hordes is the ability to use models together in such a way to cause devastating effects. In games like Magic: the Gathering, these interactions are known as 'combos'. Many combos become very popular and are widely talked about amongst the community. With that in mind, I've noticed that such WM/H combos don't seem to be discussed much... either I'm not looking in the right places, or the information just isn't being posted.

So, I'm trying to figure out if people are being tight-lipped about these interactions or if they just assume everyone else knows about them. In an effort to get more discussion going, I'd like to know what your favorite Warmachine and Hordes combos are and how you use them! Feel free to leave a comment below detailing the models used and how they interact.

I'll start it off with a few of my own.

Cankerworm or Slayer and pGaspy (and an arc node): Cast Scything Touch on the 'jack and position it for a charge (preferably a high armor and damage jack/beast). Using the nearby arc node, cast Parasite on the intended charge target. Put 3 focus on your charging jack during the turn you intend to charge. Charge with your jack, and use its special attack (Bite or Combo Strike). Assuming base armor 20 on the charge target for example, you'll be doing around 3D6+8 actual damage. Buy an additional attack and boost the damage with the remaining focus, dealing roughly 3D6 damage after taking armor into account. On average rolls, this will do about 28 damage to the target, either totally destroying it or leaving it with very little damage left.

This one is much easier to explain - Gorman DiWulfe and Pistol Wraith. Again choose a relatively big target and lock it down for a turn. Start by getting Gorman to Black Oil the target. On a hit, the target (and anything else in the AoE) suffers a penalty to MAT and DEF, cannot make ranged or magic attacks, and must forfeit either its movement or action. Shoot with the Pistol Wraith - with it's lowered DEF, you're likely to get both attacks to hit, which means you get to Chain Attack: Death Chill. The target must forfeit its movement or action. You've basically shut the offending model down from doing anything other than casting non-offensive spells, popping their feat, or using an ability that doesn't require an action.

So there you have it, some fun shenanigans you can pull. Again, please post your dirty tricks in the comments below, and hopefully we can build up some WarmaHordes combos for all to try!
